Glowing Jellyfish

Many of my pieces have to do with odd and slightly comical interactions between man made technology and nature. Sometimes when I sit down and think about it math and number sequences that appear in nature seem man made but they would have existed all the same if we never discovered them there. We put a lot of math and calculations into our technology and machines but they don't really compare the efficiency and reliability of nature. I enjoy painting pictures that allow the imagination of the viewer to complete a story of how these interactions play out(Please see 'Rusty Discovery', 'Definition of Meaning' and 'Trying to Blend in" if you want to see the interactions I mean). I'm fairly sure Jellyfish don't actually have brains but that adds to a comic feel as it does a little examining around the rusted gear on the sea floor. I like drawing and painting glowing objects and I feel that the bright glow and the more vibrant saturated colors of the jellyfish made it appear more dominant in an environment where technology failed.
